Watch the University of Maryland College of Agriculture and Natural Resources' virtual commencement ceremony celebrating our spring 2021 graduates! #UMDgrad
Let me be one of the first of many to congratulate you on your outstanding academic achievement! I am truly sorry that I can’t be with you all in person to celebrate on this wonderful day. I hope that, despite these unusual times, you are still finding ways to celebrate and are planning some zoom time with family and friends.
Your hard work and commitment as a student and member of this university community has paid off and is truly inspiring. You have mastered distance and hybrid learning under very difficult circumstances to successfully earn your degree and forever be a Terp. I am amazed by your perseverance and resilience.
You now have the skills to take on some of the most critical issues that face our society now and in the future, from establishing a healthy food system and feeding a growing global population, to ensuring that our limited natural resources are preserved and conserved, to improving human, animal, and environmental health. We know you will fearlessly face these challenges to make our planet better and more sustainable. We are so proud of everything you have accomplished as University of Maryland students, and we look forward to hearing about your successes as our newest alumni.
I ask that you please stay in touch by connecting with the college’s alumni relations office so we can continue to celebrate your achievements and progress, and keep you informed about the exciting things that your college continues to do in all areas of agriculture and natural resources. We hope you will always consider the University of Maryland, and in particular the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, your home.
