Watch the University of Maryland College of Arts and Humanities' first-ever virtual commencement ceremony celebrating our spring 2020 graduates! #UMDgrad

Bonnie Thornton DillDear Graduates,

Congratulations on earning a degree from the University of Maryland. This day marks a significant right of passage in your life and a virtual commencement ceremony may not be what you had imagined, yet I hope you will pause, reflect and celebrate this tremendous milestone.

You are READY—WORLDREADY. Throughout your studies in the College of Arts and Humanities (ARHU) you have worked hard to acquire new knowledge and skills. You write well, read critically, listen actively, communicate effectively and think creatively. You are culturally aware and linguistically adept. You are WORLDWISE!

We are delighted to welcome you and your guests to ARHU’s first Virtual Commencement Ceremony, where you will hear from me along with some of our graduates. The ceremony will be followed by a scrolling list of graduate names in alphabetical order by department beginning with American Studies.

Today, we also welcome you into the family of proud Terp alumni—a global network, over 300,000 strong that we hope you will stay connected to and involved with always.
