Dear Graduates,

Today, we celebrate you, the Class of 2021! The faculty and staff of the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences join with your families and friends in offering our sincere congratulations.

Everyone in our college had hoped to be together today, in person, with full pomp and circumstance. I am glad that many of us will soon see one another at the in-person, campus-wide ceremony.

In the past year, we have learned that patience, sacrifice and caring for others truly makes a difference to our society. I am grateful for the creative ways that we have all found to help each other, to stay connected with one another, and to mark this significant milestone.

Here in BSOS, you have worked with your peers and your professors to Be the Solution to some of the world’s greatest challenges. You have done so virtually, and in person—in classes and in laboratories, and also through valuable internships, research projects, and learning experiences.

You have also embodied our motto to Be the Solution personally, through service to your families and communities. I am extraordinarily proud of this graduating class, and of all that you have achieved and overcome. We face many challenges as a society. But we also have great opportunities, and great ingenuity.

BSOS faculty, staff, students and alumni wish you good health, happiness, and great success in the future. Please stay in touch. We look forward to hearing from and about you in the years to come.
