Message from the Alumni Association President

On behalf of the University of Maryland Alumni Association, congratulations on your graduation. Today marks an extraordinary milestone, and it is truly an honor to welcome you into our community of more than 431,000 Terp alums around the world. 

You and your classmates have met challenges with determination, resilience and heart. Truly, you have risen to the moment. As you take this next step as a Maryland graduate, I want you to know this: Your Alumni Association will always be here for you. Our commitment to you does not end at Commencement—it grows with you. 

As alums, we hope you will carry Maryland with you wherever life leads. Wear your Terp gear proudly and reflect on the excellence of the education you received here. In turn, this university will continue to elevate the power of your degree, push the boundaries of research and discovery, champion creativity and innovation, and inspire through scholarship, service and athletics. No matter where you go, you will always be a Terp—and you will always have a home at Maryland, with a special place for you at the Samuel Riggs IV Alumni Center. We hope you’ll visit often. 

Through your Alumni Association, you can stay connected to the friends you made at Maryland, the traditions that define us and a Terp community that will continue to support you—personally and professionally—for the rest of your life. As you move forward, carry with you the strength of your Maryland degree and the knowledge that you are part of something enduring.
