The University of Maryland is committed to promoting the full participation of all individuals with disabilities in the commencement exercises. Below is information pertaining to the campuswide ceremony and the accommodations made for individuals with disabilities.

Accessible parking spaces will be available on a first-come, first-served basis in Stadium Drive Garage; a state-issued license plate or hang tag is required. Additional accessible parking spaces are available in lots 1 and Z. A parking map is available here.

An accessible drop-off area is available on Alumni Drive, next to Stadium Drive Garage. 

If traveling in a group, we encourage drivers to drop off their party before parking in a campus lot. This allows us to leave accessible spaces open for those who are traveling alone or who need assistance.

The ceremony will have designated seating areas for persons using wheelchairs. Seating is available for individuals with disabilities and their one companion on a first-come, first-served basis. Guests using wheelchairs and their companions can enter through any gate. 

Commencement volunteers, wearing yellow polos, will be available to assist guests in finding a seat.

For guests with mobility issues, it is strongly recommended that you arrive early to ensure you are able to find a seat that meets your needs. Doors will open at 10 a.m and all entrances to the stadium are accessible. Should you need assistance, please see a commencement volunteer wearing a yellow polo. All guests are asked to be seated by 11:30 a.m. 

A large screen above the stage will project the ceremony so that all guests will have a view of the ceremony without needing a close seat. 

Captions will be displayed on the screens projecting the ceremony.

ASL interpretation will be available in seating section 7. 

Assisted listening devices are available upon request. An individual who may need ALS devices can approach any customer service or volunteer staff to be directed to a fan assistance location in order to check one out.

Service animals are the only animals permitted at Maryland Stadium. Emotional Support Animals and other pets are not permitted.

A limited number of LARGE-PRINT programs will be available on the day of the event. Please see the volunteers for LARGE-PRINT programs.
